To Our St. Paul and Minneapolis Area Roofing Company Customers - Have a Safe and Happy New Year

Posted by at 10:43 PM

The holidays are passed, and after mild weather, winter is setting in.  Both can bring major changes for people's lives and their homes.  We recognize that this is a busy time of year for most people, and we wanted to take the time to wish all of our Twin Cities area roofing and exterior home remodeling customers "Happy New Year."  And we trust that this year will be a safe one for you as well.  Besides traffic accidents, one of the problems this time of year brings is fire.  With lights everywhere indoors and out, fire places and wood stoves burning, and lots of extra electrical consumption, the possibility of fire is increased.  Make sure you've got your fire extinguisher charged and handy, and that you know how to use it. It's a good idea to have an extra one near your fire place or wood stove.   If you're using your fire place over the holidays, avoid having items dangling from the mantel that might catch fire.  ??Those stockings should indeed be hung by the chimney with care; or better yet, somewhere else.  And be sure to use a fire screen or glass fireplace doors to keep stray embers from igniting or causing damage to areas around your hearth.   All fires should be completely put out before you turn in for the evening or leave your home.  ?And please be careful around icy areas.  If ice dams build up on your roof, don't try to take care of it yourself.    Not only do  you risk personal injury working on a slippery roof, you can also do unintentional damage to your roof.  Best to call a professional Minneapolis area ice dam removal company such as Quarve Contracting.  You can knock those dangling icicles down, but be careful to avoid damaging your gutters and roof edging or siding in the process.  If ice dams are a recurring problem on your roof, you may want to consider putting it on your spring "to do" list to have the problem dealt with permanently.  As the Twin Cities area's leading roofing company for nearly three decades, we've been helping St. Paul and Minneapolis area home owners improve and enjoy their homes.  We're professionals at roof repair, but we'd rather you have a safe winter that doesn't require one.  We do, however, have some suggestions to make the exterior of your home more fire-resistant before the next winter season, so give us a call.  Happy New Year to you all from Quarve Contracting!
