We recently shared an article about water damage on wood siding.  (If you haven't read that post, you may want to check it out first - click here.)  Although this traditional siding material is very popular here in the Minneapolis area and indeed throughout Minnesota, it has its drawbacks.

While we love the look of traditional natural materials like wood siding, it takes a lot of time, effort, and money to keep that siding looking good.  Regular maintenance for real wood exterior materials is crucial not only to preserving the appearance but also to keeping it from deteriorating.

What if we told you that you could get the look of genuine wood siding, but with an extremely durable and maintenance free material?  You can, when you have us install our energy-efficient seamless steel siding.

Okay, you may have caught that 'energy efficient' comment, and you might be wondering how that can be.  Can a siding material actually cut your heating and cooling expenses?  Yes; that's just one of the many advantages of this exceptional siding material.   We'll cover more about those benefits in a future post, but for now we'd like to address the look of this siding.

Metal siding is available in a variety of styles and colors.  The traditional wood lap siding style is the one most popular with homeowners.  But interest is growing in steel siding that replicates the look of wood shakes or shingles.  Just take a look at the home shown in this photo above; it's one of our steel siding projects.  Yes, it's really steel and not wood shakes!  You have to get up close and touch the siding to be convinced.

This home won't be showing any signs of water damage to the wood-look siding. In fact, the gorgeous appearance you see here will last for decades.  Minnesota weather won't affect it, and it comes with an added benefit:  fire resistance.

But that's a topic for future article.  Meanwhile, if you're tired of all the upkeep your wood siding requires, why not contact us to find out more about having it replaced with seamless steel?  We are a licensed siding contractor serving the greater Minneapolis area, and this siding is our #1 recommendation for Minnesota homes.
