With all of the current talk about the federal tax budget, one thing is sure - income taxes are bound to change, and it's possible some credits and deductions taxpayers now enjoy will disappear.  One of those is the federal tax credit for certain qualifying energy-efficient home improvements.  But there's still time for you to take advantage of that credit before the end of December.  Quarve Contracting, Inc., is a full-service home exterior improvement contractor, and we've got options for you to improve your home, cut your heating and cooling bills, and reduce your income tax for 2011.

Many taxpayers were aware of the old credit of $1,500.  However, that expired last year.  The current  credit is 10% of the cost of the improvement to your principal residence, for a total credit of up to $500.  This means you can reduce your tax due by as much as $500.  Quarve offers roofing (as well as windows and doors) that can help you qualify for that credit.  If you've been planning to replace your roof or your old deteriorated windows anyway, don't put it off.  This credit will expire December 31st of this year, but there is still time to have that project completed and still qualify for the credit.

In addition to cutting your tax bill, you'll also be improving the appearance as well as the value of your home.  And depending on the options you choose, you could be looking at lower heating bills this winter...and looking forward to lower cooling bills next summer.  And if you choose a steel roof, you can breathe a sigh of relief when those forecasted deep, wet snows hit this winter, because nothing stands up to heavy snow like a metal roof over your head.

For over 27 years, Quarve Contracting has been helping homeowners in the St. Paul/Minneapolis area protect and improve their homes with roofing, siding, and windows and doors.  We can help you beautiful your home while you reduce their energy bills and home maintenance chores.  And if you act before December 31st, Quarve can help you lower your 2011 income tax bill as well!  Call us today for a free consultation.
