It may be summer still here in the Twin Cities, but as yesterday's severe storm showed, the weather is changing.  And it won't be long before the wet and cold set in.  But for some lucky homeowners here in the Minneapolis and St. Paul area who have had their roofs replaced this season with our exceptional metal roofing, winter won't be so hard on their homes. We thought our followers might enjoy a look at a few of the things involved when we prep a roof. We do much more than install the metal roofing. As you can see, the roofing crew has already put on the underlayment. The next step is to get the gutters anchored and covered with a debris guard before the first course of metal roofing goes on. Anchoring these two elements underneath the metal roofing will make them much more secure.

We often repair or replace other exterior elements when we install a new roof, because the roof doesn't work to protect a home independent from other protective features like the gutters and downspouts.  The gutter system is crucial to the performance of a roof, especially during the winter. Clogged or malfunctioning gutters can lead to ice dam build-up in the winter as well as rotting eaves and interior wall or ceiling damage during the rainy seasons, so we're making sure this roof gets off to a good start. Be sure you watch all the way to the end  so you can see the beauty of the finished product!
